Catering to the fighting game crowd, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U offers all of the bone crunching action that this title has become famous for with new characters, backgrounds and arenas. Start your journey in the Fight Lab where Violet is busy creating the perfect version of the “Combot.” With more attention paid to the plot than in previous Tekken Tournaments, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U offers fans more insight into the battle zone than ever before. Follow Violet and the Combot through the testing phase, and into the final battle against Jin in his dreaded Devil Form.
Fans of the Tekken Tag Tournament series of games will definitely appreciate the sheer volume of characters available in this game. Including 41 of the original playable characters in the arcade version gives this newest Tekken adventure the feel of a crowded amphitheater filled with deadly combatants armed and ready for battle. Arcade version is probably the most enjoyable portion of the game with plenty of updated character designs. Veteran players will love seeing the return of Michelle Chang, Armor King II, Nina Williams and Raven. Unlike previous versions of the game, now you will hear the native voices and languages of characters like Leo speaking German.
Rated E 10+ for Everyone ages 10 and older, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U offers an excellent mix of adventure and old-style brawling that has not been seen since Mortal Combat hit the arcades. The amazing variety of characters means that you will not get bored with your battles, and the online options allow for play against newbies and veterans alike. Moving from the battlefield to the laboratory, the storyline in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U makes the characters much more believable. Everyone’s favorite Tag Team Play allows you to select characters and change them at any time during the fight. This means that you are able to rest a character to rebuild life while continuing the battle with another character.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U is primarily a tag-team battle game, so fans of the complicated story lines offered in other genres will probably feel like something is lacking. Veterans of the Tekken franchise will love the fact that you finally get some background on the important characters. Although there is plenty of violence, Tekken does deserve that E 10+ rating because there is very little gore. The Wii U edition of the game does not force you to get the Online Pass for game play, so this version of the game offers all of the action without any added purchases.
