There is never enough Sonic to go around. Since its release back in 1991, that familiar blue hedgehog has been speeding his way around the world and into our homes. From classic Sega games to the new Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Bonus Edition, Sonic is one of the most beloved of all video game characters. Now, Sonic’s racing series has a spectacular surprise for classic Sonic fans with the reintroduction of Metal Sonic. From speedy chases to surprising new characters, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Bonus Edition is definitely living up to the “bonus” in its title.

Sonic the Hedgehog is not the only character that you can pilot in this challenging racing game. In single player or multi-player modes, players are able to take control of 20 of the legendary All-Star racers including Doctor Eggman, Amy Rose, Shadow the Hedgehog, Metal Sonic, and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball. Each character has its own vehicle. The vehicles are uniquely designed to transform as the race courses transform, changing from a car to a speedboat to an airplane in a furious flash. Each vehicle requires different skills to master, making the Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Bonus Edition one of the more difficult of the Sonic games.

With internal designs specific to the Wii U platform, the Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Bonus Edition offers some unique “Wii U” only items. There are included minigames plus the ability to create an adventure with up to five players through the Wii U Gamepad. The evolving nature of the game gives it some new excitement that has been lacking in a few of the previous Sonic releases. Over 15 race courses create a game that gives you plenty of playtime with a single player adventure mode that allows the unlocking of even more characters. Pick up a few stars along the way or show off your tricks, and you can fill your “All-Star” meter. Use the full meter to allow you to perform that “All-Star” maneuver at any point during the game.

The Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Bonus Edition is rated E 10+ for Everyone ages 10 and older. This game appeals to the lovers of racing games and the classic Sega game fans. Sonic is the perfect distraction after a hard day at school for the kids or a hard day at work for the parents. The sheer, joyful speed that comes with all of the Sonic racing games is refined in the Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed Bonus Edition to create a fantastic adventure that everyone in your home will enjoy, no matter what their age.
